Our Big Decision

This summer the family took a road trip to Pheonix AZ to visit Mom & Dad. It was a wonderful family vacation!

It is our immense love for "A" and all the members of our families that made adoption such as easy choice for us. We have decided to adopt two brothers from the Ukraine. We were drawn to the children of Ukraine for several reasons:

* Their features more closely resemble ours (fair skin and fair hair)

* Boys are more readily available for adoption

* We are able to complete the adoption process "independently" and more affordable

* The Ukraniane orphanage system is more advanced than other adopting countries

All PAPs have their reasons for choosing Ukraine. For some reason, Ukraine called to us. When we researched Ukraine, we really liked the process over other countries. We didn't want to attach to a photo and bio just to have that fall through; it's horrible on the emotions. Ukraine allows us to meet the prospective children and interact with them before we decide to adopt. What a novel idea.

Monica - I FINALLY had a chance to check out your blogspot and photos. It sounds and looks like you and your family are doing very well. Allen and I love living in Nashville. I am now working at Vanderbilt in the Informatics dept, facilitating testing for vendor software for the medical center. We have two yellow labs that look a lot like the one in your 'pack'. Ping me at AIM and I can send you an updated contact set.
Best Wishes,
